Worth the wait.....
So a lot has been happening this week and I haven't updated...so grab and drink and sit back...this one's going to be long.
Monday and Tuesday were fairly uneventful. I don't remember much about them so not too much could have happened. Monday we did get our new mattress delivered so that was cool. It is a foam Tempur-Pedic knock off and we love it. Since the girls sometimes visit during the night we definately needed a king.
Tuesday night Macie had soccer practice (her second this year). I really don't understand her soccer league at all. We were told we needed to purchase a size 4 ball which is for 8-12 year olds. At last night's practice the coach began to explain to the girls that they will be playing with more girls on the field this year (last year there were 6 per team) and he also began to explain off-sides to them. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!?!? These girls don't know how to pass yet, how in the world are they going to understand off-sides. I think we are in for a disaster this year. It seems most of my friends with girls Macie's age play 3 on 3 soccer with no goalie. Macie is going to play 7 on 7 with a goalie. I don't see how she can be expected to play at that level. After soccer, Jamie went next door for pokeno (sp?) so I had the girls. I fed them dinner and put them to bed. Jamie is much better then I am at that but the girls sure are good and help me out a lot.
The major task on Monday and Tuesday was getting the house ready for our furniture delivery scheduled for Wednesday. The upstairs needed to be completely re-arranged and that prooved to be a bigger task then I anticipated. You will see in the pictures below that I had to remove my computer from my corner desk, move the TV and all cabling etc. to get ready for the new furniture. Jamie and I had already cleared out our bedroom completely (except for the new mattress).
This morning (Wednesday) I took Macie to school and then headed right to Home Depot and Staples to get some last minute items for my office. When I got home Jamie informed me that the furniture was coming between 12 and 1. I still had to do a couple of things upstairs so I got to work. The major task was to wire some cat-5 through the attic which is always fun. I struggled to get the cables through the wall sockets but finally was able to get it all wired up. The highlight of my cabling was this: I used a one foot cat-5 cable to pull the larger cable through. I then procedeed to cut the one foot cat-5 and punch it down on the wall unit. When I realized this I was truly embarrassed. Also a little pissed since I just wasted about 10 minutes punching down the wrong cable. I also ruined the one foot cable I needed.
Unbelievably, the delivery guys showed up right at noon and moved very quickly. They were gone by 12:30. I don't know how they did it because later in the day I had to shift one of the desks and it weighs a ton. I have no idea how they got it upstairs so easily. We spent the rest of the afternoon getting the furniture setup and we really like it a lot. Here are some pictures of how it looks.
